FRIDAY, APRIL 26

7-9 p.m. Sweets for the Streets Silent Auction happens tonight to raise money for the Nanaimo Samaritan House. The event is at Maranatha Foursquare Gospel Church at 6553 Portsmouth Road. Tickets are $5 and include entertainment, dessert and a silent auction.

7-10 p.m. Enjoy single malt scotches, specialty spirits and local wines at Crimson Coast Dance Society's annual Wee Tipple Scotch & Spirits Festival. The event is at the Grand Hotel's Crystal Ballroom and costs $75 at the door.

 

7: 30 p.m. Juno Award-winning Indo-Canadian artist Kiran Ahluwalia plays the Port Theatre, 125 Front St. 250-754-8550.

9: 30 a.m. - 1: 30 p.m. Horticultural society plant sale at Country Club Centre.

11 a.m. - noon Family story time at the Harbourfront library, 90 Commercial St. Free, drop-in.

SUNDAY, APRIL 28

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Children's party at Altrusa Playground at Beban Park (on Bowen Road) to celebrate the Altrusa service club's 60th anniversary. With performers, games and crafts. For more information call Vicki at 250-754-2234.

7: 30 - 9: 30 p.m. The Island Consort choir presents 'Forever Young,' at St Andrew's United Church, 311 Fitzwilliam St. With a choral music program that highlights youth and the Nanaimo Youth Choir, directed by Marian Smith, as guest performers. $15 adult, under 12 free.
